Until 2 hours ago, I worked for a little venue in small-town Canada in the kitchen. They can't schedule staff properly and always get too many in on quiet days and not enough on busy days. So I'm bustling my balls off on my own trying to prepare (for the raptors game) 3 types of hot sauce, cheese sauce, par chicken, nacho chicken, beef and vegetarian option, 4 bins of fries, 20lb of hand cut nacho chips, soup of the day… As well as line cooking, busy afternoon with about 20-30 orders, dirty dishes etc. Also there's a manager meeting and they all want feeding.
Totally busting my ass all day to get called into the office at the end and told that my Caesar salad (for a manager) wasn't right and the chicken was cold (it'd been sitting there waiting to be picked up for 15 minutes) and that I would be taken down to one shift a week in the next rotation as punishment.
