It was said multiple times during the interview process that training is 3 months long. They emphasized many times that it’d probably take me less than 3 months to train since I have experience in the field.
Remote is important to me because I have UC, autoimmune disease that sucks really bad. Its almost impossible to work anywhere besides my home office.
I agreed because higher pay would be nice.
I am 2 months into “training” and it has been hell working in office with UC. The training finished within the first month. I’ve just been working… So I figured I’d ask if it’s possible to work from home now… granted, I am not even training.
It is also worth mentioning its a two hour commute daily.
On top of struggling physically with UC and not being able to manage it as I can at home, its also been effecting my work performance. I’m not completing as much assignments as I would without this disease being the forefront of my worries at work.
I was told the transition happens after I start meeting the quota. And that it could take longer than 3 months. This was never mentioned during the interview process at all.
I advised that I’d be able to do this at home and probably meet quota since I have proper accommodations for my UC, at home.
But apparently that’s just the rules.
I’m now looking for remote work again. I cannot wait to give my resignation letter.
Edit:
Adding this:
Its also worth mentioning that if I wanted a non remote office job, I could have been working somewhere that pays a lot more than here. I had offers. But I needed something remote
