Recently, I have been working at a church for 10 hours a week. The pastor would sometimes work remotely, most recently during this major snow storm. He recently went to Florida and sent me work remotely because he wasn't in the office and said it was pointless for me to come in too.
He would send in emails and texts at all hours. I would literally be in bed and he would send over work. I became fed up with this and found another physical job that is full time. I resigned in writing. I told him it's just best if he find another admin who can be more accommodating to the church needs. I even edited the church website and posted my own position for all to see.
I sent him the resignation email and he immediately called. He said things along the lines of “I love what you do for the church” and so on.
I told him it's just not ideal. I also explained to him that I absolutely need full time work immediately.
Now, I am about to start my new job and he is sending me work to do. Multiple texts per day. It's getting really weird. He doesn't seem to want to let me leave.
Also, I have other church members asking me why I am not completing the work he is sending. My phone is being taken over by texts and emails.
I don't like to be rude but how the hell do I get them all to go away?
