I am starting to get sick of this bullshit. Started off in august of 2021 with 1 job. Now i work 3 jobs none of which are the one i had in august cause got laid off in a mass layoff with that one. due to hours getting cut across the board (every employee who is not old not just me) at each one and are scared i might need to get 4 at this point.
Almost every place i called, send in resume, or walk in won't hire me. I had like 5 of these places i walk in result in employees getting pissed cause they needed the help and they just turned away in their words “decided to not hire another perfectly fucking good canadiate its been months who the fuck are they looking for.” But then after 3 or 4 more months they hire a old fart. Also if i had a nickel for every place that doesn't get back to me if i get hired but has me still in the running for a position that hasn't been filled since last summer i'd have 10 nickels which is fucking weird. Oh and probably another 50 nickels for places when i dig to why i wasn't hired claiming “oh there was a hiring freeze.”
This worker shortage is a load of bullshit i tell you. Every place is hiring but everyone i know who is under 40 either has had their hours cut or is struggling to find a job after a layoff. The only people i know still working good hours are the eldery, the only persons i see get hired are the eldery. It pisses me off even more to hear they get $25 a hr with no college degree no adjacent experience while the younger workers get like $10-$15 to work 5 hrs yet they have more adjacent experience, a doctorate, are certified on the equipment to work at a McDs
Its starting too seem like there is a shitload of agism going on not people lacking the proper experience.
