I’ve been at the same company for about 7 years in the sales department. They hired me on as the person that will just do whatever needs to be done so I really dont have a job description.
My pay is about 48-51k a year. Heres the problems im facing:
-My boss can be very kind to me and my team but he can also be a real bully/a**hole.
-I get things dumped on me that are sometimes other peoples jobs including his.
-I told my employer that I would train my replacement then start looking for another job because I was burnt out and wanted to take on a different career path. My employers response to this act of kindness was to imply that someone else was trying to get me to leave and outright say i was lying when questioned because i “looked to the left” (body language)
You get the idea the list of complaints go on and on.
Despite working in the sales department we do not get any sales commission for the work we do. I did some research recently and discovered that most inside sales reps make around what i make now just starting out plus commission.
Also me and a team member of mine were told that we would be able to be moved to different roles within the company after they found new hires to take our place. The problem is that they are not actively looking for our replacements so this “big opportunity to make more money” within the company is starting to seem like another carrot on a string tactic to keep us around.
Has anyone here been led on by an employer? How did you deal with it?
