For context, I’ve been working this job for well over a year. I initially picked this job because it got me out of a job that mainly was tips and on my feet all day to an office job with way more money that basically allowed me to work and pay for college at the same time. Recently I decided that college wasn’t working out and to prioritize my mental health I asked to go into remote work as I would be moving away closer to family and wouldn’t be able to come into the office ( I work a desk job on the phones and remote work would not be too hard.)
They asked me to go above and beyond my quota for 6 weeks to even be considered for remote work, not even one week of being lower than the last. I already go above quota and having to do better than the last week is more of RNG luck if someone decides to call in.
So I decide that I’m going to be focusing on calling out to people to hit my quota and get remote work. Then they tell us “stop calling out to people, only do so after 5 minutes of waiting for a call” I had a set system where I got plenty of calls and outbounds to hit the goal they wanted me to hit. After that I receive an email stating that I need to focus more on my work. At this point I feel like I’m being micromanaged and very annoyed. I’ve already told them that if I don’t get approved for remote work before I leave that I will be quitting as there would be no physical way for me to come in office. Any advice for how to handle this situation?
