I'm a very energetic young workaholic. I'm currently working as a Network Engineer at an SI company, since I'm from a third world country, SIs here are usually “all-in-one” with less Layer 3,2 and more Layer 1 along with intense user support. I didn't have experience that much, but I do learn really hard, and work really hard in everything. And before me, there was no good documentations, no good diagram and stuffs. I'm currently at a bank for a month for a network standby (We rotate each month). And the bank wants a yearly network report that has never been done in the company. But I went on extra hours unpaid at home drawing diagrams for this, with exact and accurate port-mapping. The bank was just a branch with about 7 42U Racks and 1 wall-mounted rack. But it was not easy to finish all the port mapping, IP mapping, routing configuration (Documenting what's being configured on the devices), and network diagrams in one week, but I did it anyway with extra works since I'm also so eager to be given an opportunity to do those. But as soon as I've prepared the document, the korean guy (He's like the director and the head of the company), changed the document into his theme. The document was not complete yet, it was lacking some diagrams and information at that moment. And his first page was so lame, like just black big words with a square picture about 300×300 at the end of the document. So, I created a dedicated, and well-referenced cover page using Illustrator. I wouldn't say it was a “next-level” cover page or something like that, but it was better to me. So I switched it, and changed some colors of the headers, sizes, but left the footer and header as he formatted because it was obvious that he wanted it that way. The document hasn't even handed to the company yet, and he hasn't touched it for like a week and in an instant, yesterday, he wanted to say like this is not the same as I did. So, it was just a preference and I wasn't really mad about that. But the project manager (who's got the same nationality as me, basically everyone's from the country except the director and the managing director, it's a small company so that's it), kinda yelled at me for something I offered as an improvement. It wouldn't take a day, not even an hour to revert the themes.
But I'm like, if I made a mistake, no little it was, you can pin me down harder than it was, I would still accept it. But if I was offering an alternative, and if you wanted to blame me hard because you just have a different or maybe (worse) preference or standard, then I would have to quit the job. And I'm afraid it could also be her licking the Korean guy since he's the director and she was just so dumb enough to not know such simple alternatives just give different opinions and introductions instead of breaking the whole business.
