I shared my new job on Linkedin, with a simple and direct text. My ex-boss sent me an email to say congrats, i'm happy with your new job. I thanked him and as a courtesy, responded that my work experience at his company helped me a lot in getting my new job. I forgot he's a boss…
Then out of nowhere he shared a Linkedin post implicitly taunts me, with a lot of mansplaining, for not mentioning and thanking him (as if I owe my existence to him) in my new job post.
He finishes his article as follows: Startups are like a 40-year-old uncles, they want attention and love.
I could completely ignore him but something inside me wants to respond. I am looking for a sarcastic answer to share without starting a war..
EDIT: The best response is to ignore because yes it's not worth it, social media polemics are super childish but we can think of it as some kind of fun and share our opinions. Let it be that way.
