Hi, I 20M am living with my parents on a gap semester from college currently. I’m working at Dominos pizza, and the job is killing my mental health. I have not seen my parents or brothers since Monday, and most weeks go days without seeing anyone but customer and coworker.
My schedule is thrown off because I am a morning person and being scheduled to close multiple times a week leaves me constantly sleepy.
What really makes me want to leave though is I asked for Saturday off this weekend because I have a friend’s birthday at 1, and am driving 3 hours to see my boyfriend. I havent seen him in a month because I had to move back for my gap sem. I explained this and the owner called the store to tell me I couldn’t have it off. Keep in mind I was there 3:30-close and 3:00-close tues and wed, we ended up getting out at 12:30 am. 7-11 yesterday and 4-12:45 tonight.
A few days ago a manager said she was quitting and left, then said it was bc she was sick and got 4 days off with no issue.
The only thing stopping me is the owner is a nice dude and they are understaffed, but I already have a job lined up that is oriented toward my future career, and it pays 15/hr as opposed to min wage
I really am considering calling and telling them whats up, I am moving in with the boyfriend in a few months anyways, but I’m sick of not seeing my family, friends, and having no personal time due to a damn fast food job, also my car is about to be out of commission for two weeks anyways due to a small wreck i got into
