So this is an issue I’m going through at the moment. I work at Ralph’s as a fruit cutter. The problem is that I have facial eczema and being inside the cooler for too long irritates my skin. By the time I’m done with my shift my skin is very red. It looks like I got sunburned. It also stings and hurts a bit. Even though my eczema isn’t severe, it still reacts from time to time especially in the cold. Before fruit cutting I did commercial bakery which I prefer doing but was taken out and put as a full time fruit cutter instead because they barely had people for the position. Almost all fruit cutters they had quit. I’ve been at this for a while now but it’s not something I want to do anymore. I have worked in produce before but as someone who would organize or take out expired products out on the sales floor. This included salads, drinks, dressings etc. I liked doing that as well but was also taken out of it. I’ve talked to my manager asking if I could be transferred back to either of the two positions I used to do. He said he’d think about it but he said that a long time ago and still I’ve heard nothing so I asked again thinking maybe he had just forgotten but he said the same thing. I don’t know what to do. I’ve been thinking of resigning because I don’t want to be in this position anymore. Is it wrong that I wanna leave because of this?
