Not an “anti-work” post per se, just a general criticism of the job market and workforce.
To preface – I'm an attorney licensed in 3 (soon to be 4) states, I have a post-graduate certificate in addition to my law degree, nearly 7 years of successful work history, and a completely clean record.
But I had an accident a few years ago that resulted in a Traumatic Brain Injury – which has adversely impacted by verbal fluency in job interviews. I was laid off at the beginning of his year and have been churning out cover letters and resumes like they're going out of style. I've been told I seem like a perfect fit for several positions, but I've gone for over a dozen interviews – and I've been rejected after each one. I know for a fact it's because of my verbal deficits- but these employers are all smart enough not to say that and admit to discrimination.
I don't qualify for Social Security Disability – since I returned to “gainful employment” after my accident (didn't really have a choice, couldn't afford not to) – but I'm kind of at that point. How am I supposed to maintain “gainful employment” if I can't pass a fucking interview due to my disability!? And how are these employers getting away with such blatant discrimination just by fabricating a different rejection reason!? This whole system is fucking bullshit garbage.
