I was hired for a specific position, but am now being forced to do the work of another position as well without compensation

Title says it for my TLDR people. I was hired by a property management company to be the groundskeeper for an apartment complex, the apartment complex I am also a tenant of… I should note I was hired part time at 30 hours per week, and given the opportunity to work as an umpire at the local baseball league in town in the evenings… seemed like a great gig working from home basically not having a daily commute. The new manager is a huge bitch… she has treated me like shit from the jump, basically telling me that I was useless and that I would be doing exactly as she tells me to do, or I would be replaced.

So as I said, I was hired as groundskeeper… but now this manager is forcing me to do the maintenance work as well, which is an entirely different position with different title and pay scale.

I have begged for more hours or pay, but she tells me I have to prove myself worthy of the position before I get compensated… which will never happen.

Not only that, but she is lazy and leaves early often and will tell me I have to be available in the evenings to work with contractors in her absence, which prevents me from being able to work another job… and the extra time I work is only like 30 minutes or an hour, which sometimes I don’t get get paid for.

She lies and says anything over 30 hours is full time, which I’m positive is bullshit.

I just don’t know what to do anymore… I’m not making enough money to survive, and if I quit, I get evicted… something that wasn’t disclosed upon hiring because they were desperate to fill the position.

Do I contact HR? Do I ask the regional manager for more hours? I deserve to be full time and paid more for the work I am doing.

Any advice would be appreciated.
