Backstory:
Two people quit right before thanksgiving and I agreed to go from part time to full until we could fill the position. We went from five people to three. The third was totally useless and dangerous as we work with animals and his mistakes were very stupid. He was never once wrote up and was given so many excuses by our head manager. Dude literally sexually harassed someone that was helping out our team, as well as asked HER what to do for a job he had been working at for months. They never hired any new people and then, surprise, he quit by no showing almost two months ago.
Well my department manager gets approached by our general manager about hiring someone, something she was never given access to or discussed. Turns out big boss lady wasn’t even looking for any new people, nope! Not during that entire 3.5 months at that point..
Now my department manager is pulling doubles, I’m working almost everyday of the week never seeing my kids when this is supposed to be PART TIME. I asked for a raise when I got my 3 month review (at five months lol) and was given the pettiest reason as to why and was told to work harder.
Flash forward to now, Presidents day weekend. New people starting in a few weeks. I am by myself having to take 30 dogs out to go potty up and down a flight of stairs. Protocol is upstairs, downstairs, clean kennels while the dogs are out, then feed the dogs after everyone has gone out. Well I’m alone and I was not wanting to do 60 flights of stairs that day. So I fed the upstairs dogs while the downstairs were still being out.
Main boss checks in on me, doesn’t help me, but I told her exactly what I was doing. Today right before I leave she comes to me with write up paperwork. “My failure to follow protocol will effect the training of the new people coming”
I was pretty baffled. I would not be doing this if I had a second fucking person to help me. I work my ass off, the people who actually care to observe me working see it. The 6 months I’ve been here I’ve never been late, only recently called off when I had a injury. I feel so disrespected. I vented to my department manager and she’s looking for a new job along with me. I might just not show up anymore idk.
