I will make at least 10k less than someone I’m managing.

I was hired full time into my company and started Mid September. I had been working for the company since January as a part time community manager making $11 an hour. I was hired with 70k salary and 5k equity in the company. I had to fight to get 70k- initially they wanted me at 60k. I've been exceding expectations at my job- every deadline, everything they need me to do- im early, I stay late, I quite literally moved to NYC by myself, I did a lot for this job. I had to fight to get 70k- initially they wanted me at 60k. I've been exceding expectations at my job- every deadline, everything they need me to do- im early, I stay late, I quite literally moved to NYC by myself, I did a lot for this job. And I love it! the people here are awesome.

Here's my problem. They're hiring for a content creator and product marketer to come on full-time to the team. I'm a community manager now, which is basically the mid part of that funnel- with product marketer being on top. I will be managing the Content Creator.

Found out through some very intense googling that the Content Creator's salary brackets are 80-120k.

I am dumbfounded- and I feel shortchanged.

Product Marketer is making 110k – 180k, but I'm not too upset about that.

I feel like I need to be on the same salary or even higher than where the content creator makes- I have 3 years of XP- the req for the CC job is 1!

And yes I know, I am sooo very lucky where I'm at right now, making this much money out of college- but I do a lot for this brand and I deserve to be compensated fairly.
