And my response was “working in your pj's doesn't count! ”
And then they replied with, “oh no, I work after I get home from here” (place of establishment)
I rebutted with “Yep, that's the cost of being the owner. ”
I will never understand owners. Like No, I will not do extra work, outside of working hours to make it better for you.
I am guessing they overheard part of a conversation with a fellow employee, where if they miss a day, or have to take some time off for a medical appointment, they are “expected to make it up by working late or taking an EXTRA shift *
They also don't get over time.
I work in a different part of this small company, and I am flabbergasted.
But I shouldn't be… not when they give out pins and a piece of paper for being there since the place opened.
Or that someone who is hired on is making the same wage as the same person that has been there since it opened over a decade ago.
And they wondered why I didn't want to go to the “employee appreciation ” day, on my day off…
