Hi y’all, I work in a Japanese steakhouse in Virginia. I was talking to a friend of mine yesterday and while we were taking he asked about pay. I told him how I get 45% of the tips, 5% goes to the busser, and 50% goes to the chefs (cuz they cook in front of you here). My friend proceeds to tell me that’s illegal and he could call the labor board as they could owe us servers some real money. I’m here today to ask if there is a law in Virginia that says the server must receive 100% of the tips they are given, and if so could y’all link the law so I can spread it around my workplace like a wildfire?
