As a medical assistant working in a plastic surgery PLLC, my responsibilities go beyond the typical duties of a medical assistant. I work closely with the plastic surgeon and other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the practice.
On days I work with the owner of the practice she has me and another worker recycle her old trash, and when I say recycle it's not a typical recycling duty, it's separating everything apart from each other from hard plastic, soft plastic, paper (which includes dirty used tissues and paper towels), and aluminum, all in separate bags. She has me and the other worker recycle moldy things left in her fridges from months to years old to clean and recycle everything. that's not even all. She has me and the other worker travel from Babylon to the Hamptons which is an hour commute without any travel time pay or mindfulness of wear and tear on our cars. She is an absolute narsassist scum that low balls her landscapers and delays their pay. She wastes hundreds of service workers time and money by delaying appointments with the cable, and internet guys, etc. I only stay because I feel like there is a way to shut her down and get a big settlement out of it. I have proof of her ex attorneys and lawyers say how much time she has wasted them and can get more if needed. Furthermore, I promise the situation is a lot worse than what I'm typing out to be. What should be the move?
I have been working at this job since september of 2022 and have been receiving the minimum wage of $15.00 since.
