i would be happy to lifeguard forever

i few weeks ago, while i was looking for a “real job” i told my parents that i wouldn’t mind lifeguarding forever if it paid enough. i get to play video games/do whatever i want for half my shift granted i am in the office and able to hear if the other guard needs help. i spend most of my time playing video games, on duolingo, and just generally doing nothing. i spend my time on stand listening to podcasts and counting people (i actually love counting?? can’t explain it). my parents said, “yeah but then you’d be playing video games for the rest of your life and not doing anything” i didn’t know how to respond because my mom scares me (i’m 23) so i said, “haha yeah i guess” when in reality i would be thrilled to spend my time doing other things and playing video games the…

i didn’t know how to respond because my mom scares me (i’m 23) so i said, “haha yeah i guess” when in reality i would be thrilled to spend my time doing other things and playing video games the rest of my life. the only thing i don’t like about my job currently is that i open everyday and don’t get enough sleep, but i don’t mind too much because i can nap and i’m off at 2 everyday.

i don’t know, just wanted to tell someone and this is the only sub i can think of that would get it
