I'm so sure that you – a complete stranger to the situation – could so easily quit a job you're not working while also not being in the shoes of OP – not knowing the financial situation, mental state, resources available…
Even if you have the ability to up and quit any job at the drop of a hat, most of us don't. You're encouraging shortsighted, unsafe behavior pushing ideas like that on people who do not have that luxury. If we could “quit on the spot”, posts complaining about work, managers, etc would be moot. We'd just fucking quit and be done with it if it were so easy.
“I'd quit on the spot” is not helpful advice. It's not constructive, nor supportive. It's the embodiment of riding your clean horse passed those struggling in the mud. Fuck. Off.
