TRACKING tools are meant for the team DOING THE WORK to help them keep track of what they're doing.
A tool optimized for TRACKING may be SUBOPTIMAL for REPORTING.
The tool doesn't need to be changed.
Managers just need to accept that reporting metrics DON'T NEED THE EXTRA DETAIL, you're just trying to justify your stupid job by having more graphs and charts!
Let the people doing the work track in the most efficient way, all you need is inputs and outputs, if those are being met why the fuck do you care about all the micro details?
