So I don't know if this post fits but I feel it might.
I am child free. This is not meant to be a topic on controversy simply stating what I am.
One of the reasons if not the largest as to why I don't have children is because I feel like I would by no means have the time to be able to take care of them and enjoy life.
I remember reading a quote on this subreddit that said something along the lines of with advancements and automation the average person will only have to work 14 hours a week.
There are times where I think of how I would feel having all of that time, and a large part of me feels that if all of my waking life didn't have to be either work or taking care of children, or me actually having the proper amount of time to raise them and teach them and address things that maybe blighting them as they grow up I could absolutely see myself being a parent and enjoying it.
I've seen the child free movement start to grow more and more across the world, and I wonder if automation did what it was supposed to do and billionaires weren't allowed to reap all the benefits of it how many other people would consider, be willing, and be happy to be parents.
It's a shame that so many things that so many people would want to do are being robbed of them by illogical, unjustifiable, and pointless greed of a small group of individuals.
