If our customers knew, they would never shop with us again.

I work for a company online and this company is only available in the united states. Our customers are entirely American and many of them are older and conservative. They often complain about not wanting to speak to “foreigners.” They expect our company to have American workers. If they knew that our company just laid off a bunch of employees living in the states and then turned around and hired new south American workers, they would be pissed. They would never shop with us again. As an employee it also feels pretty shitty. We got told how there is not enough hours, not enough demand. But they just on-boarded dozens of new people, after letting go of dozens.
