If you’re not going to pay me enough to afford a car on top of my apartment then public transportation malfunctions shouldn’t count as tardys

I'm so sick of this. Employers seem to go through cycles of how forgiving they are about it too. I'm not going to get there 20+ minutes early and sit there off the clock because they don't like how the other bus gets me there a few minutes late either If I'm out there at an appropriate time to catch a bus that's supposed to get me there within 5 minutes or so of my start time but things beyond my control go wrong then it shouldn't count as being late I also can't politely ask the bus to run just a few minutes earlier because the roads are shit or sometimes they are talking to a friend and drive much slower If they want me to be perfectly punctual they need to pay me enough to afford a car or a place within a reasonable walking distance and I'll…
