im an analyst training a high level manager for the State of Ca.

Ive applied for SSM1 promotions twice in the past & haven’t gotten them. When i’ve asked for feedback, it’s been vague like “your scoring didn’t add up” or “you need to do this and that training,” which i take for no apparent benefit. And now im having to train an SSM1 specialist & an SSM2. My favorite is when the SSM2 tells me she needs me to explain things to her so she can “report back” to the SSM3’s. Because it would be so unprofessional for a lowly analyst to speak directly to SSM3’s. I would quit but i doubt it’s different in other departments. And i love the work we do even though it is very bureaucratic & oftentimes severely inefficient. Anyway, not sure what im looking for by sharing this, but damn, i feel burned out. I wish i could quit and still qualify for unemployment. I need…
