I returned to work today after taking last week off. I was date raped 2 weeks ago and the first week after it crippled me mentally so I decided to take a week sick (work are aware what happened) to try to process it and deal with police, hospital stuff etc.
I had this morning booked off as overtime.I'd worked earlier this year as I had planned a trip away with a late return flight. It was approved and in the calendar for weeks. I went ahead with the trip, as it was visiting old friends and knew it would help me process recent events. My manager booked in a return to work catch up during my booked morning off. I emailed them last week to let them know it was during this time and if we could push it back slightly due to late flight, but said I was happy to adjust the time booked as I knew I'd been off. Heard nothing back. Last night, my manager declines my already approved time off, when I'm at the airport. I see it this morning when I logged in after my morning off. They requested to speak to me privately on our teams group chat, (so everyone could see) and basically sternly said I should have attended the meeting and my time off wasn't official.
After everything ive been through recently, this is not the return to work I was expecting. I've spent most of the morning crying, worrying over drama at work when all I wanted was to return to work and have some normality whilst dealing with police interview etc.
I don't get why people do stuff like this. I'm just in shock.
