I am disabled and looking for a job as an apprentice in the trades in a union because of my high medical bills, but I make $0 dollars a year so I get free housing and free groceries along with $110 to spend on needs like hygiene etc. as they don't provide hygiene materials so I rely on my parents for that. Part of me says I need to work now that I'm out of the house in order to show my face in the community, but I can only make under 1,450 dollars a month and keep my benefits which I would need a car for, but I immediately get cut off from my benefits if I own more than two thousand dollars. It's extremely shameful in my family and community to see a physically able-bodied man not working, but why would I work for 40 years just to get the same lifestyle I have now but slightly richer? The other part of me says I should just let my life be something full of freedom without much money, I can buy a book a month, they give me utilities free, and I've got lots of books already anyway. Aristotle's complete works are by themselves going to take me years to finish. Any thoughts?
