So today I was scheduled to work along side some vendors doing work at my job that many unions members here are qualified to do. I am union they are not. My company is undermining the union by doing this I found out yesterday they are being paid astronomically more than us to do the same work. Today the work wasn't workable because of a unavoidable issue. We all left they were going to be paid for the whole day and my union co-worker and I according to law will only be paid half a day. My co-worker wants to call our boss so this dosen't happen again tomorrow I told them no way I'm coming in and at least getting paid for the half day and I don't feel at all guilty about it. If my company can pay these vendors 4x as much as me they dang well better pay me for at least half of what they scheduled me on my regular days off.
