Antiwork

I’m happy with my work(place), but still antiwork.

Obs.: English is not my 1st language, so sorry in advance and I'll clarify anything that comes up in the comments as needed. So I'm currently working in a big education company. We offer affordable college to people that wouldn't have the opportunity to graduate otherwise. Still profit driven and a lot of possible problematic conversations are possible, but still… Better than my previous job in a bank. I'm happy with my role and I see the direct management and up to VP being widely focused in delivering quality education to our students/clients. My manager just hired a trans man with almost no skills to support me in my attributions, and put me in charge of giving him the tools to grow skills in excel, power bi, etc. And I'm genuinely happy to do so as in my country is very hard to trans people to get good jobs.

Also, this guy was kicked out of his house for being trans, was homeless and was surviving in “less than minimum wage” jobs up until now and here he's getting an livable wage and benefits.

So… I'm quite proud of my job, my managers and everything.

AND… I'm 100% antiwork and honestly don't see a problem with being both things.

I will continue to try and be a positive influence (unionising everybody around me, pushing for less hours, better benefits etc) and hopefully one day be free to not having to work to live.

This sub really changed a lot of opinions that I had, and reinforced some others. Made me see how fortunate I am to live in a country that have universal healthcare for example.

So I think I don't really have a “argument” here, but maybe just to ease the minds of people that landed “good” jobs and are not “suffering” on them, that you can still be antiwork.

Edit: spelling
