I’m in California, do I have to work overtime?

If my employer text me and says “I need you to come in at 9:30 to work a 12 hour shift”, but my original start time is 1:30 and I’m suppose to work an 8 hr shift originally, can I say no I don’t want to work the over time? Security work btw
