I’m middle management and I fucking hate it.

I'll save everyone some time here, this is a pointless self serving rant just to blow off some steam. So…topic. My position, as my last few have been, is a middle management position in charge of a team of people reporting directly to actual management. I hate it. I'm not a leader, I'm just a particularly good worker, but unfortunately the only place for a good worker to be promoted to is a leadership position. I can't stand being “the bad guy” when management feels like somebody needs to or taking the blame for bullshit that's not my fault. I can't stand being the wasteful middleman that gets paid to gatekeep management doing 30 seconds of actual work per day. Most of all I can't stand that I've lost any meaningful relationships built up with my team because I'm their boss. I just want to go back to being a…
