Hi. Just thought everyone here would want to know I'm quitting. I don't have any screenshots of my final text or anything fun like that. I got home and wrote a letter of resignation I'm giving in tommorow.
Just wanted to let everyone know this subreddit has been pretty inspirational. You're all so right. Why should i put up with this bullshit?
This week I did a 42 hrs on an understaffed, really busy bar, and all my boss had to say to me at the end of it was that I need to get new shoes because mine are unprofessional (black vans). Maybe they are but no-one with smart shoes is showing up to clean the toilets at 2am after a 11 hour shift split between the kitchen and front of house. I'm not doing it anymore.
I've given 4 years of my life to this company and worked every single weekend for the last year and a half and I'm exhausted. I called in sick for one day this Christmas when I was actually sick and did not hear the end of it for WEEKS about how my boss can work through the flu so we should all be able to.
I was gonna wait till I had another job lined up but half the bar staff quit this week and I think it'll be funny to watch my boss explain to her bosses why she lost so many staff in one week.
Keep on quitting lol.
