I’m quitting my minimum wage food job. Retail in my area is paying higher, I don’t have a degree to get me anything higher than minimum wage. Can people tell me their experience?

I’ve worked three food jobs in the past couple years to get my through high school and part of college. I’m done. I’m so fucking sick of food. I wash dishes, I make the food, I serve the food, I wring up the food, I restock the ingredients, I’m forced to remake crappy food if the color looks wrong, I have to clean up all the spills, I get no benefits from it, and I always come home smelling like whatever I made that day. I don’t want to serve food, I don’t want to make food, I don’t want to clean it up. Leaving strictly retail. I’ve already got tons of experience getting screamed at by customers I know to expect that. But what kind of work would I be doing? I’m assuming mostly register, folding clothes, restocking things. Anything else I’m missing? Can people give me some of…

Anything else I’m missing? Can people give me some of their stories about working in retail? Like I said I’m expecting it be shitty in its own way but I’d like to be prepared on what to expect.
