I work 12hrs a day in the hot sun busting ass. There's 3 guys that do my job and we alternate shifts, but the shift is sun up to sun down and this job has to get done every single day. I was leaving this job since the pay isn't enough and im falling behind on bills, but right when I put my 2 weeks in, my coworker straight up quit since he didn't want to pick up the extra days until they find a replacement. My leave day was the 5th and now it's the 17th. They have yet to hire anyone to replace the other guy or myself and this job requires a good 2 weeks of shadowing before you can do it by yourself. Now I feel obligated to stay because I'm the lead tech and I'm the one who trains people so without me they'll find it very difficult to get the work done right and not break equipment and associated vehicles. The one guy that's left when I leave is just a high school kid who's only been here a month or so. I'm almost certain the demanding schedule in the hot summer sun will make him quit too if he's responsible for 12hrs a day 7 days a week. I'm joining the military when I leave here and so my dates are flexible, I can ship off whenever I'm done here. Should I just leave and let them figure it out or bank those extra hours and tough it out in hopes of a smooth transition?
