I’m too sick to work and don’t qualify for (P)FMLA

Hello. I’m gonna try and keep this short and to the point; I’ve been sick due to an unknown liver/gallbladder issue that has caused daily vomiting, fatigue, and other issues. I can barely keep food down anymore, and this hinders me unable to work. I’ve only worked for my current employer for 4 months. According to HR, I don’t qualify for FMLA, and they’re “looking in to” whether or not I qualify for STD.

I have a gut feeling that due to me not being able to come in regardless, I’ll just be let go, if I don’t qualify for STD. And I doubt I do.

Should I take the L and just wait for them to lay me off or let me go? What do I do from here?

What do I tell my boss? I’d really appreciate any help or kind words. I am struggling right now and losing my coworkers that I enjoy is going to suck.

I am also going to lose my only health insurance during the time I need it most. My family says that I’ll definitely qualify for my state’s Medicaid program, but I’m not sure where to start. Stressed, sad, in pain, and getting more anti-work by the day.
