I found a better job and I can start almost immediately. When I told my current employer I'd like to leave asap they started threatening me they'd go to court to file for a compensation because I'm unable to complete the 4(!!!) weeks mandatory notice. They said I can leave immediately if I pay them the compensation which is a month's salary. I don't have that kind of money. I just got out of debt.
I have no choice but to keep working there for 4 weeks. I hope my next job doesn't mind. But I do. I can't believe they can force me to work or to make me buy myself free.
I talked to a lawyer and unfortunately they are allowed to do this when someone doesn't complete their notice. I feel like my body doesn't belong to me.
