My boss is trying to take away a day off from the TWO WHOLE DAYS we get off for Christmas every year. One of the days isn't even PAID FFS. I told him Saturday doesn't count even if Christmas is on a Sunday! Another co worker and I argued with him and he got so pissed off and he walked off. I'm already planning to quit but I seriously need a new job first…
It's a small family owned business and my boss NEVER takes time off for himself. For over 20 years he has never taken a vacation. The longest he took off work was when he had a SEVERE injury and took off maybe 3-4 days. He didn't even attend either of his parents funerals!! And they were good hardworking people!
So basically we're required to always be working. He only wants to constantly be working because he's a greedy AH and doesn't want to be at home. Sorry bub but just because you hate your wife/life doesn't mean I have to suffer.
We also have a Christmas lunch every year and I will NOT be going and I will NOT be contributing the stupid amount of money we gift our boss every year. Even if that means I will not get my Christmas bonus. I'm not even signing the stupid card he gets with the money.
I told my co workers that this was the last straw and they're still trying to “talk me off the ledge.” I respect the hell out of them so it will be very hard to leave but I will at least be giving them my notice. My boss will not get any notice.
