I've lost count of how many comment threads and submissions I've seen that are basically “HR is there to protect the company, not you”, or “It is illegal for companies to prevent employees from disclosing or discussing their salaries”, or “If your raise is smaller than the rate of inflation, you've had your pay cut”… I could make a list pretty dang easily, I think.
If people could straight up see things like “Joining a union is beneficial for most, if not all, workers”, and “It's in a company's financial interest to pay their workers as little as possible”, right in the header? Straight up facts and logic that just aren't immediately obvious? I think it would help express the culture of this subreddit and raise awareness.
And of course, mousing over the ticker should let the redditor pause the tape and scroll back.
