Last week I was hired by a company, spent 2.5 hours doing onboarding filling out paperwork and being told/shown how they operate at their warehouse. Today I received a text before I even started saying that I’m “not fit for the company” resulting in me being fired.
I then asked if I’d be compensated for the time spent and was told “no because it cost the company a lot of money for that time too.” I replied saying that is in violation of FLSA and for me to please just be paid for my time. Their response to that was “return our key and shirts or you’ll be in violation of theft of company property”.
What options do I currently have? All of this is on record through text messages
