individual retirement savings is a ponzi scheme

Just got out of a retirement planning workshop on how to cut corners for a good retirement. They started out with the ratio of workers to retirees, used to 40:1 in 1946 now it's 2:1 and that's the reason we should plan for an individual retirement. Instead of saying that the existing system is absolutely insufficient, we are being fed propaganda about becoming individually,. financially independent. Most advise for $1.25 million for retirement at 65 right now. I'm 30 and assuming I retire at 65, that'd be about $2.5 million. Like wut. How am I supposed to get that money when I make like $30k a year. It just seems like everyone my age is going to get stuck holding the bag.
