I interview at 1pm Mountain time for a front desk job. I'm over qualified and have other opportunities, but it would be nice to have steady $ over the holidays etc.
Some thing to note:-
- Up to $20 per hour – my standard low is $25 (I would ask for more in interview)
- The job info states “full time” at the top….no more details, yet within the body of the job description they say its part time, Sat/Sun 8 or 12 hour shifts. I went for it because of the part time bit. Person who called me for interview stated it was full time. Ok. “I'll see”, I thought.
- They contacted me really quickly and set up interview with 24 hours – desperation?
- Here's the biggie – the interviewer who set this up stated that I need to be careful what I say when I come in and NOT to say I was here for an Interview. Just for “an appointment with *****. I said, “gotcha”, cos I did…..I got what they were saying.
But maybe I should “gotcha” them?
So – Given the fact that I am NOT desperate for this job at the moment, and was just throwing my resume at indeed the other day, and the fact that they obviously haven't communicated to the current reception person that something is wrong, or that they are probably going to be fired right before Christmas, and that they are asking me to be complicate in their duplicity, I'm thinking of doing the interview, calling them on their bullshit and letting that poor staff member know what I am really there for etc.
Any advice (either way) tips, hints, ways to make this more interesting etc? Or am I in the wrong or overthinking?
Thanks all.
