Interviewed for a position but was bamboozled midway through for a more subordinate role because apparently, I (25f) look “too young”

I have a babyface. Yes. But I was so excited to interview for a managerial position with a large real estate company. When I received an email to interview I was over the moon! My experience lined up adequately with the parameters outlined in the job description, but minutes into the interview, the interviewer discredits my experience despite having 5+ years in the field, and states that I'm “very young” and that real estate agents can be very “demanding” They then go on to state that putting me into that role would be “setting me up to fail.” Verbatim. Rude but, okay? They continue to interview me for a more entry-level, subordinate role to the original position I had applied for. If I had known this I would not have wasted my time moving my schedule around and driving there. Why are people like this? I have been bamboozled!
