Is 7-5 the next norm?

Back in the day the ‘normal’ work day in corporate America was 9-5. But somehow over the last number of years, they decided to sneak in another hour, on the pretense that lunch is not really a work hour. So now, office hours are 8-5, and you get an unpaid hour of lunch thrown in. I’m just wondering whether it’s a matter of time before they find an excuse to drag us into the office at 7 am. Oh yeah, in addition to this, our PTO ‘package’ consists of a whopping 15 vacation days per year, which includes 5 sick days. And to top it off, Presidents’ Day is not an off day, instead we get dragged into the office for corporate “trainings”.
