Is corporate trying to stiff my salaried team?

I supervise a small group of people. I’m responsible for payroll, and my team is all salaried, so there’s never been an issue with people leaving early or arriving late. That being said, on Memorial Day, the office was closed. Out of the organization, one other person and I came in for a few hours, but nobody else did. I submitted the payroll for our full time and was asked who worked that day. I explained the situation and it is my sneaking suspicion that corporate is going to try and stiff the person on my team that did not come in. Is this even legal if this person is exempt? They should be paid for their full workload,…

They should be paid for their full workload, and I’m prepared to go to bat for them.
