Ive been in the same company since I was an intern. Its been 7 years now and I had a very strong start. I could do almost everything they asked me to do from previous experience interning from the get go.
As time went on and projects became more difficult, I felt like I was being punished for not reaching that same standard (this is a whole story in and of itself). Add in the expansion of the company, and new additions to the teams including people who were good at office politics and passing the work off to others and my job has just become a living nightmare. Get random requests from these other co-workers and it just feels like its become my responsibility to complete those tasks that they should be sorting out themselves.
Its hard to describe but a simple way to put it is, Im being perceived as lazier now. I used to be able to say yes to everything and now Im telling people to fuck off when they give me some bullshit task that they sat on till the last minute and pass to me with a 1 day due date. The boss gets “disappointed” and sends emails to me when I refuse these bullshit requests from these colleagues.
So sick of people touting company culture and “TeAmWoRk”. Just freaking buzzwords for people sucking the bosses off while passing the work down to people who can actually do it.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation and felt something similar?
