Is it legal to reduce an hourly pay rate of an employee if he/ she doesn’t give notice of leaving?

I started a temp to hire position through an employment agency. As I was going through the paperwork, I came across a section that said something along the lines of, “If you do not provide at least a week notice of leaving, you agree to be paid $7.25 for all remaining worked, but not yet paid hours.” Pay day is every Friday morning, but you’re paid for the week before, so quitting after pay day wouldn’t work. When I questioned this, they said I had to agree or the offer would be rescinded. Is this legal?
