Is it micromanaging if your boss doesn’t know how to do your job but keeps “helping” you do it?

A few times my boss gives me big tasks that take time to do, that he says “no rush”. I break the tasks down and and work through them over days or weeks, on top of my regular tasks or more urgent tasks. Then he gets impatient and either yells at me for “doing nothing”, or comes in and “tries” to do some of the work for me, but he doesn’t understand my area or the process, so he makes mistakes and messes things up, and I end up having to spend more time fixing them. I get that he’s paying me, and as long as that is the case he can ask me to do whatever stupid time wasting shit he wants. I fucking can’t anymore. I can’t have a conversation with him that’s longer than 5 exchanges without him saying “I’m a good leader and my thing is making everyone’s job easier”. No you fucking don’t, except for your direct report that you’re sleeping with, and that’s only because you’re leaving your “leader” tasks and do menial tasks with her.
