Is it normal for applicants to jump through physical hoops now for jobs?

I've had allot of jobs in the past 25 years but this year I feel like they are asking me to do allot before even getting an interview. All these jobs needed this before the interview for the actual job and were in manufacturing. Job #1 Full medical disclosure of every disease, disorder, surgery, medical treatment, including mental health and asking if you've ever been diagnosed/treated for depression or anything related to metal health. And a “fit to work” note from your doctor if you have certain diseases or issues with mental health. I've had allot of jobs in the past 25 years but this year I feel like they are asking me to do allot before even getting an interview. All these jobs needed this before the interview for the actual job and were in manufacturing.

Job #1
Full medical disclosure of every disease, disorder, surgery, medical treatment, including mental health and asking if you've ever been diagnosed/treated for depression or anything related to metal health. And a “fit to work” note from your doctor if you have certain diseases or issues with mental health.

Job#2
Required an actual PT test where you run around through an obstacle course as they monitor your heart rate, blood pressure and blood sugar. Also required full medical background including current and past medications but didn't ask about mental health. Required “fit to work” note from doctor if you had certain health issues before taking PT test.

Job #3
Required a drug, hearing, vision, strength and stamina test. The strength and stamina test was grip strength, lifting weights, walking on a treadmill with weights, walking up/down stairs with weights while pulse is monitored.

All 3 were for large international manufacturing companies for mostly entry level jobs. I mean nobody likes when the new guy dies of a heart attack on his second shift but still I've never been asked anything beyond the standard disability disclosure. Is this the new normal for blue collar jobs? Does your medical history now limit your employment potential?
