Is reverting from Salary-based pay to hourly allowed?

The Utah company I work for wants to better track a certain few individuals who are paid salary, yet receive complaints because these individuals leave early, don't show up, make their own schedules, etc. They are removing all salaries, and everyone is going to hourly pay to be able to track who is working the most. I personally am not worried because I see the silver lining and will ultimately make more money with overtime being available now, but I want to ensure it's being done legally and my rights are not infringed. I am told my current salary will be converted to an hourly equivalent, and that my benefits stay the same. Should I be worried?
