Is there a reason my job doesn’t do direct deposit?

Multiple coworkers have asked many times about getting direct deposit to which we’ve heard them say “we are looking into it” or “they are asking for to much money”. Myself as well as other have had a couple checks bounce do to “insufficient funds”. What needs to be done to make sure that we can get our money on time and not worry about checks bouncing?
