Antiwork

Is this a cult?

My brother has recently gotten very into this sub. He's become very angry and depressed, and very moody about discussing work or finances. He quit his job a few weeks ago, which I supported, but currently he is saying things like he never wants to get a job again, and that he plans on living on his savings which is not something he should be doing so young imho. He only had to go in one day a week and the rest of the time worked from home. He was paid well, too. I just don't understand the philosophy of this place. It feels very childish, as if we're in Hook and money made out of playdough will just appear if you wish for it enough. No one loves work, but it's something responsible people have to do, especially when others are depending on it. I just don't see how…
